The Pueblo Historical Aircraft Society and International B-24 Memorial
Museum are establishing a data base of former crew members who flew B-24,
PB4Y-1 Liberators or PB4Y-2 Privateers for the US Army Air Forces, US
Navy, or allied nations. If you were a crew member on the above listed
aircraft or know someone who was (living or dead), please take a few moments

1. The Wild Blue, The Men And Boys Who Flew The
B-14s Over Germany,by Steven Ambrose,
c. 2001 by Simon & Shuster. The
story of George McGovern who was a Liberator pilot in
Italy during the same time period as our crew.
A very vivd picture of what it must have been
like for the airmen and a fine trubute to the
boys.
2. The Soldier - Consolidated B-24 Liberator
Photographs by Dan Patterson, text by Paul
Perkins and Michelle Crean, c.1994 by Howell Press
Inc. A must have for the B-24 enthusiast.
This
volume contains many wonderful interior shots of a
B-24J, still flyable. Not restored, it looks much as
it might have while still in service during WWII. (66
pages)
3. Liberator - Consolidated Vultee,
c.1989 General Dynamics Corp. Another favorite of mine. This
book was issued by General Dynamics in 1989 to mark
the 50th anniversary of the B-24s maiden
flight. If you can find a copy, it's a gem. It features
the B-24J maintained by the
Collings Foundation listed in the sites above.
General Dymanics funded much of the
restoration of the aircraft. (60 pages)
